How can those of us in the philanthropy world leverage billions of dollars for issues we care about? Learn how during this provocative discussion with Chuck Collins and Alison Goldberg.

Chuck, a great-grandson of Oscar Meyer, gave 100% of his inheritance to social justice organizing through the Funding Exchange.  Alison has also given much of her inheritance to social justice issues.  Together they run the project "Wealth for the Common Good"  Read longer description below.

Philanthropists for Fair Taxes

Do you ever wonder whether philanthropy alone can make a more "level playing field" where all can flourish?  Or about the different roles philanthropy and taxation might have in promoting the common good?  Join Bolder Giving's free teleconference March 25th as our guests Chuck Collins and Alison Goldberg explore these touchy and vital issues.

A decade ago, cross-generational colleagues Chuck and Alison bonded through their similar response to the extreme inequality in America and internationally.  At first they were each galvanized to become philanthropists, contributing most or all of their inheritances towards social justice work. Over time, however, each came to believe that philanthropy alone was an inadequate response, and that those of us who want to address poverty must also change the economic systems that perpetuate wealth inequality.

Chuck worked with Bill Gates, Sr. to organize some of the wealthiest Americans to advocate for the preservation of the Estate Tax. Now, Chuck and Alison have teamed up to make sure the "tea bag" anti-tax movement doesn't dominate the tax conversation this coming April 15.  Through Wealth for the Common Good they organize thousands of wealthy people to speak up for fair tax politics.  They seek to spread a new narrative about wealth creation, success, and gratitude -- and to break open the stuck conversation about taxes and the health of our communities.

Join Bolder Giving's free teleconference on Thursday, March 25th to learn how philanthropists, foundations and bold givers can use their voices to leverage billions of dollars toward the issues they care about.
